The prize is in the process

This is one of the best posts about the process of Yoga I have seen in a while from one of my most inspirational yoginis. Enjoy her Lucid insight and pragmatic advice, simple and profound elegant but with a heavy impact. In essence, it is amazing, like an elephant 🙂

Meet Rusty. Rusty the yoga elephant.

Rusty lives in the heart of all practitioners of yoga.

He is open to new things. He is courageous. He struggles. He conquers.

And just when he thinks he has conquered, he sees that there is more to be done.

This quote by Baron Baptiste and this image of our new friend Rusty has embodied my journey on the mat this last 5 months.

For the first time in about 30 years, I got sick… super sick… sick as a dog… back to back sick as a dog… fractured elbow, flu, sinusitis, ear infection, bronchitis, inflammation of the lungs and then to top it all off i sprained my ankle… it was long winded and gross just like this sentence.

After months of trying and failing I realised that what I really needed was just a good old fashioned time out.
